gig performer audio issue with Music Lab & RME interface

Intel(R) Core™ i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz (1.50 GHz)
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 11 Home

RME UCX II interface

Issue is crackling audio using Music Lab App in Gig Performer

  • similar too unmatched sampling rate between apps

could only find a few posts of same complaint with no posted resolution

All my plugins work with all other hosts or stand alone

All plugins work with Gig Performer EXCEPT Music Lab Guitars

Music Lab will work in GP if I change the RME driver to Windows Audio driver

The Direct sound Driver also crackles but not as bad

Updated the RME ASIO driver & firmware, but still crackles

Updated Music Lab latest Rev

Uninstalled & Reinstalled Gig Performer

hoping others are using rme and music lab

thanx

Is gig performer the only app using the RME?

What sample rate and buffer size are you using?

thanks… everything runs through the fireface since I bought around 4 years ago

tried various buffer sizes & rates

everything works with everything except the particular combination GP + ML + RME

If other options do no work, check out these threads:

  1. What format did you try, VST3, VST? Both?
  2. Did you try to change the sample rate from 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz? (or vice versa)

Curious: Where did you find a complaint with RME plus MusicLab? Can you post the link?

All plugins work with Gig Performer EXCEPT Music Lab Guitars

Interesting.
What happens when you open the Plugin Manager and set the plugin startup as Delayed Loading?

Thank you
They are all VST3
tried various buffer sizes & Sample rates
dont see delayed loading in Plugin Mgr?
did rescan all plugs after updating music Lab… still no go

link to similar issue but no resolution:

ok thanx

Can you please try with the VST2 versions?

We are told that MusicLab is working with you directly. We had a report exactly like this from one user several years ago (an older version of GP + MusicLab plugins) and neither us nor MusicLab could figure out what was going on. It’s quite bizarre particularly, as you (and we) observed that any other combination of GP and plugins was fine and other DAWs + MusicLab was fine too.

I just did some tests with GP+ML+RME UCX II ASIO. I tried several different ML guitars, both VST2 and VST3. They all sounded terrible, and basically the same. Kind of a modulated sound, like being double or more triggered and detuned. I don’t know, just weird. I then tried the same guitars and presets in Bitwig 6, and they sounded fine. I then switched GP to Windows Audio, and the ML guitars sounded fine.

So, I can confirm that the combination of GP, MusicLab guitars and RME Fireface UCX II ASIO is messed up somehow. I have zero problems with all other virtual instruments in GP with RME ASIO.

OMG, Thank you for this…

nice to have a corroborating account

Greatly appreciated

This is so bizarre. It only seem to be happening on Windows for a tiny number of people. I think there have only been a couple of reports on 8 years and neither us nor MusicLab was able to figure it out. I use those on my Mac all the time with my RME interface as do some of our high profile users one of who demos MusicLab products on Windows with RME interfaces with no problems. But we reached out to MusicLab yesterday again and we are arranging to get an RME interface for one of our developers who is a Windows expert so we can see if we can reproduce it ourselves.
