First summer tour with Gig Performer

I have to remember that. In English, I’ve always said that “believing something doesn’t make it real”. Unusually, the German version is shorter! :+1: :sunglasses:

Haha!

No. Originally, it comes from French and it meant something like “madness” but was then adopted by our local dialect as a folkloric type of music. Nowadays, in this region, it is understood to mean a “crazy musical get-together”, where people meet up to play music and dance all night… as our region of Spain is said to have once been joined to Ireland we have a very Celtic background, so I assume that it comes from those Celtic nights where everyone got together to joyfully sing, play and dance all night…

The D’Ases comes from a card game where “Duo de ases” is a great hand.

So, the actual musical band is called “Foliada” and in winter the 2 girls have their own show together called “duo d’Ases”. They play more or less the same kind of music together as a duet, with backing tracks and for the summer season we get together to do our show as Foliada d’Ases.

Aha! So each of us got it partially correct. If I had pronounced it the French way with the ending “s” silent, I would have made a better guess. “Pair of aces”. Great name for the ladies’ duet!

Yep! Totally right…

And, yes… Duet of Aces… And I must say they are very good at what they do and I have the pleasure of gigging all summer with great professionals. I’m off in a while to today’s event. 4 days in a row… It’s tiring because we play until very late each day. This morning I arrived home at about 6.30am … last week we were arriving, on average, at about 7 - 7.30am, due to the large distance from home.

Next week we finally have a gig about 10 minutes away…

Looking forward to seeing familiar faces

But with small breaks in between.
the time was called “Rosenmontag”

Today’s event is from 23h until 5 am… 2 bands.

1h 45 each band and then 1h15 each. 6 hours in total.

There’s our competition at the other end of the field.

Indeed, it looks like the singer didn’t have time to finish getting dressed, but on closer inspection… it’s not so bad! :innocent:

You had better hope she is not a member of this community :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hahaha!

No… She’s not technical at all and not interested either. Very good singer an artist but is very dependant technically speaking…

She knows my opinion anyway and we sometimes laugh about the old times… Both have our own families and have well moved on…
