Well… Just the trailer setup costs about 65.000€ . + Led screens, robotics, 30.000W sound system etc etc… About 150.000€ total…
Not counting each person’s own instrument/mic etc etc…

Oh, that’s only the price of a grand piano, like a Steinway Model D… I thought it would have been really expensive ![]()
So, I suppose this kind of trailer is usually rented.
You’ve one up in the attic, just to decorate the place in style, I take it ![]()
A decorator friend of mine, who worked for a rich guy a few times, told me that he had a Steinway in his living room for decoration, even though nobody ever played it. I asked him to try to convince him that, in terms of decoration, a piano was no longer fashionable, to see if he’d like to get rid of it. He convinced him, but the guy only made an offer of 130,000 euros. I’d hoped he’d be more disinterested, and I was expecting a really knock-down price, but I guess rich people are rich for a reason… ![]()
The trailer is owned by the band. Each band had it’s own. Some bands that have closed down rent the trailer to djs or to other startup bands…
Impressive !… It seems that bands in Spain work like companies… ![]()
Oh yes, definitely!
We all pay taxes, social security, wages etc etc…
It’s a huge business in our region of Spain. In the rest of Spain there are quite a few bands but not as many as where we are.
Right now, I’m playing at a gig and we’re accompanied by another band.
Damn ! Now, I can’t imagine that 150,000 euros would be enough to finance the infrastructure you’re moving here. ![]()
There’s obviously all price ranges.
Ours is roughly 150.000 - 200.000€ but there are definitely other bands with 500.000 to a million € investments.
We invested about 25.000 last year on adding new led screens and a few moving heads…
Now we need a video… ![]()
Here’s a YouTube video with a collection of songs we do. It’s a very varied assortment of styles you may or may not like.
It’s from the first half of our shows.
The second half is more for youngsters. I’ll try and find a video on that.
Lots of fun! Playing in the background now. ![]()
Great to hear
Interesting thread!
I wonder about your band name. I used Google translate, which came out with something like"donkey foliage". Is that correct?
It is written in the videos: Orquesta Foliada d’Ases
I saw that. Just wondered if my translation was right, and what the deeper meaning of the name is ![]()
“Foliada” is a traditional form of music from Galicia in northwest Spain. “D’Ases” is not a Spanish form, so I’m going to guess that the form is in the Galician dialect and is similar to French where “de” (of, among other meanings) is shortened to “d’” before a word that starts with a vowel. So I think “Ases” is a place. That’s my guess anyway.
Ok… “Foliada” as a form of music. No wonder i didn’t found a meaningful translation.
But “Ases” can obviously also mean “aces”, so i suppose the band name “Foliada D’Ases” could mean “Foliada from aces” (played by aces).
…but that’s just a wild guess.
As the Germans say: “Glauben heißt ‘nicht wissen’!” (Believing means ‘not knowing’).
