I created a very simple version of the visual metronome described in one of the earlier blog posts. Just one pad assigned to “beat” and one on/off switch assigned to “beat mode”.
OK, now when I toggle on the global playhead, the metronome gives me 10 or 11 flashes and then stops. Toggle on the global playhead again, and the same happens, 10-11 flashes. I’d like this to be on for as long as the global playhead is on, but I can’t just figure out for the life of me which parameter causes this behavior.
FWIW, I’m on Windows and the latest version of GP.
Oh my. I tried the same gigfile on my backup PC and the metronome works just as expected. On my gig PC it will flash 11 times and then stop.
I’m totally confused. Obviously the PC configurations are different (gig PC is AMD, backup is Intel and the gig PC is not up to date with latest updates), but still. I can live with the 11 beats on the metronome, so no probs there, just makes me wonder about the peculiarities of IT!
OK, this got resolved, however how, that I’m not able to tell But just to close the thread to a conclusion I’ll let all know what happened.
As said earlier, I took the gig file from my gig PC, uploaded it to my backup PC, and the metronome worked just as expected. I then did some work on the gig file with my backup PC, stuff that was totally unrelated to the metronome (added some songs to a setlist etc). I then took the file back to my gig PC, and voila - the metronome worked!
This is obviously totally unrelated to GP, so must have been something going on with either my gig PC or the physical setup of my gig hardware. However, all working fine now and GP is absolutely fantastic!
