first time trying variations. I kind of expected them to be able to bypass on variations.
is this possible or do I have to set up a panel and/or possibly script it?
doing Abba Gimme Gimme… Just finished pulling together all the sounds from Arturia and Triton Extreme, but would love to hear anyone else’s thoughts on putting it together
@EvenSteven . That’s the whole point of variations. Each variation, basically, saves the “active/deactive” state of the widgets, levels of faders, etc etc within that one rackspace. What do you wish to accomplish?
Put a button widget on a panel - map it to the bypass parameter of a plugin. Then use the widget to bypass (or not) the plugin. When you switch from one variation to another, the button’s value will change to whatever it was the last time you were on the same variation, thereby causing the bypass to be remembered based on variation
In order to avoid stuck notes (missed notes off) it is often better to map the widget to the note on messages of the corresponding MIDI in block plugin, which stops new notes from being played, but still allows note off messages. Some plugins stop playing when bypassed, but others pause rather than they stop, miss the note off messages while bypassed, and go on playing when unbypassed again, leading to stuck notes.
