Dear Community,
I have been successfully using Gig Performer for several months now and have been able to program some really complex setups. However, there are still a few aspects that are not entirely clear to me.
I primarily use two keyboards: an 88-key piano master keyboard (“LOWER”) and a 61-key synth controller (“UPPER”). My idea was to use a separate pedal/controller block, independent of the connected keyboards, so that I could assign and map pedals and controllers autonomously. This works very well with the Rig Manager, but during some test runs I noticed that, for example, a sustain pedal routed through an externally assigned block to the MIDI In block of a keyboard works within a rackspace, but cannot hold notes when switching to a new rackspace.
This only works if the sustain signal (CC64) is sent through the keyboard’s own MIDI In block.
Since I would like to use just one sustain pedal for both keyboards (“Lower” and “Upper”), but still have the ability on both keyboards to sustain notes and switch to the next rackspace without sound interruption, my question is how I can achieve this.
Additionally, during a song/rackspace I like to switch to sounds for “Lower” and “Upper” (for solos or improvisation parts) that are defined at the global level. These should also be controlled by the same pedals and controllers. However, I have noticed that a MIDI Control Alias defined via the Rig Manager is only available on one level—either rackspace or global rackspace. What would be a better way to handle this than linking via global parameters?
