Hello, why does the Streaming Audio Player switch tracks when changing to next variation in the same song. Is it possible to stop this from happening? Thanks Community
Did you map a widget to the SAFP?
no, I have the Streaming Audio Player in my Rackspace, just the play, rewind, fast forward etc. are mapped. When I switch the songs next variation the player changes tracks ![]()
Songs do not have variations…songs have song parts which can refer to completely different rackspaces. So if you are in setlist mode, that’s an entirely different situation.
So are you in a rackspace switching variations (as suggested by your previous post) or are you in a song switching song parts?
Yes, I am in setlist mode.
Can you upload a small gig file showing the issue?
Paul will likely tell you what’s really going on when he sees the gig file.
But, in the meantime, you can check the Song Part and the Variation to try to see if something is triggering the next audio file to play.
But the way, do you want the current audio file to stop when you change the songpart/rackspace variation? (No longer play anything?)
No, I’m just using a streaming audio player to learn songs, but not sure why it’s changing tracks when I switch parts. Thank you.
PianoPaul, Do you want the song file
I need the gig file
My guess is he has the player in a local rackspace rather than in the global rackspace
yes, it is in my rackspace, here is the file
Loverboy - Turn Me Loose.rackspace (1.4 MB)
So when you switch songparts, is the rackspace being changed?
Thx for that, but the gig file is needed for analysis.
See dhj’s post. If changing song parts causes a change to a different rackspace variation, that would cause that. (Actually I don’t know what would happen if you changed song parts but the new song part was linked to the same song part variation.)
So, it may be you should put the SAP in the Global Rackspace if you want it to continue seamlessly while switching song parts/rackspace variations.
But listen to dhj and Paul, not me. I just use the SAP for sound effect/one shot sample type of purposes (plus they know more than me generally).
no, the tracks change when I switch variations. within the Rackspace of the current song being played.
Thanks, I would, but then need to import the song being practiced every time I import a different songs Rackspace…
As long as you do not upload the gig file we cannot help.
I took a quick look at that rackspace you uploaded. There’s something odd going on with the widget assignments for the SAFP controls.
It looks like you imported that rackspace from a gig that was posted for GP 4, and those widgets I mentioned have gotten in a strange state. I would start over with mapping widgets to the controls you need for the SAFP.
HHMMmmm…sorry for the next question, but not sure how to create the gig file from Rackspace so that I can upload
