Sorry for the n00b question!

Ok, so I’ve been beating away within Gig Performer, creating bunches of rackspaces and song arrangements for my cover band.

I have a friend that sent some rackspaces to me to try out, and they are in .gig format. I’m DEATHLY afraid to lose what I’ve done so far in GP5, so I’m loathe to load in a new .gig file, even though I’ve already saved it to my Mac in the Documents folder.

Am I good to go with just loading up the .gig he sent? Is there any risk of losing everything if I’ve (supposedly) already saved?

Again, sorry for the dumb question.

Gig files are self contained - you can open another one — people have lots of gig files

The first tip I give to people is backup, backup, backup.

The second tip: gig files are ‘project files’ – you save one project, close it and open another one. It will not affect your any other projects.

You can have two projects at once! Create a new Gig Performer instance, run it, load the desired gig file and you are good to go.
