Skip loading of Rackspace or Plug-In?

Hi - I am having a problem where opening a Gig file is hanging on trying to load a particular rackspace. I’m in a catch-22 because I can’t load it to go and change it and try to remove what I believe to be the offending plug-in.

Is there a way (key combination or something) that will skip over the current rackspace being loaded and/or skip over plug-ins that are “Stuck” on load?

This is a strange situation as usually when this happens, I can force-quit and then load it again and it will work fine, but not this time.

There’s some info in this thread that can help.

Ken, this may not help you (and you probably know this), but you can open the gig file while hitting the shift key and then open the latest saved Gig file you have before you added the problem rackspace.

That may be the best you can do (but others, who know more, can respond).

Here’s what I did that got it open. Not sure why this worked. In fact, I don’t understand any of his LOL.

  1. I made a copy of the Gig file and named it “test”
  2. I edited it in notepad and removed the whole XML entry for that Rackspace.
  3. I then opened that “test” Gigfile and it opened fine
  4. While in GP, I opened the original GIG file, and voila, it opened, including the offending rackspace.

my brain hurts.
