Hey Guys,
Is anyone or has anyone used IK Media, specifically Miroslav Philharmonik? Everything loaded and is working fine. Pick a orchestra patch that I would like to use for a song. I make all the adjustments to my liking and move to the next rackspce. After all is said and done, I save changes to GP and quit for the night. Go back in the following day. Fire up GP Everything is there EXCEPT IK. All have disappeared and need reoaded. What in the world am I doing wrong? Thanks
I can’t help you with the specific question, but if you search IK you will see other people have had issues with their plugins.
Their price value proposition is often seemingly excellent.
But, I think they are even less optimized for live hosts like GP.
I do use IK’s B3-X, but I passed on Sampletank Max for almost nothing because even a little glitch is not worth it.
My $.02.

Are you on Mac? One thing I found with B3-X is that its presets are stored in a cloud folder, and until I figured this out they were getting off loaded from my Mac quite often. This resulted in all my GP rackspaces not having the correct B3-X sounds until I went in and refreshed them.
I did not face the issue at all.
The state was always recalled correctly.
How did you fix this? It’s hard to believe that the plugin would FORCE you to use a cloud folder.
Yep, the default folder seems to be the Documents folder which is an iCloud folder, so can get offloaded
I’ve mentioned it before but i had to mark that folder as keep downloads. Since then it’s been ok.
My MacBook is mostly connected to my home wifi so it was never really an issue until i started using it away from any internet connection. I started to notice GP was crashing either on start (if it was going to open a rack space using B3-X)), or would if i switched to one. Couldn’t figure it out until i noticed the OS had offloaded the presets.
The firt time it happened i connected to a wifi hot spot to google it and after a while i notice see it was all working ok. Obviously as B3-X couldn’t access the internet before so it couldn’t get the presets and crashed, but once back on line it worked ok
Never had this happen since i figured it out. I also keep a copy of the presets in a local folder just in case i need to put them back in the original folder.
I’ve googled a lot and asked on various forums if it’s possible to change the target folder but haven’t got anywhere.
Oh, I see — yeah, my wife’s computer is doing that now - it’s incredibly frustrating. I haven’t had time to see how to make it NOT point there. Same problem with desktop.
Yeah, the cloud stuff is handy sometimes, and it’s not so bad now that we can force things to stay put, but i don’t recall being given the option of location when i installed B3-X.
I’ve got all the GP stuff in a folder that is marked as keep download. So far it’s working fine, alfiles become un accessible
Actually i think I’ll try and re install it on my other mac and pay
I find iCloud more useful than annoying so I’m not going to disable it, but i do think carefully when im saving files now.
I’ve been looking for this solution but haven’t found it—could you let me know how to do it?
Just right click on the folder (or how ever you get the context menu up, I’m still in Windows mode) and select Keep download. I think this was introduce in the latest OS (Sequoia). It seems to be a reliable way to keep things locally, but also to share them. Good feature.
Anytime I make an edit to BX-3 in a rack space, I save it, then when I’m finished editing the gig file, I save that. I’ve never experienced an issue with any edit issues with BX-3 this way.
OneDrive has only caused me headaches. I unlink to it and try to never use it/access it.
Ah thanks, I’m on Sonoma (14) so that’s not an option
It’s the fact that the patch inside B3-X was getting offloaded from my MacBook. If i was to try and use B3-X and it couldnt reinstate the preset it would crash. I could 100% make this happen.
Thanks for all the input. Have come to the conclusion that paying 19.95 and seeing how many headaches it’s causing just isn’t worth it.
What’s wierd is this all started when I bought the BX3. My experience is the same as ‘musc by sterling’. I assigned all the drawbars perc etc to the Arturia keylab 61 and then saved it as a rack space. Loaded the rackspace when I was learnin Onl the Good Die Young. Added a piano for the piano part . Have never had one problem. It’always where I put it. Has never off loaded. Thats what is frustrating about Miroslav.
So on a different note. What is the best string / orchestra library for live IYHO I was thinking about Nucleus
