I’d like to revisit the storage space issue: I currently have 70 songs programmed. I program 10 songs in a separate gig file. Then I export these and import them into the gig file for live performances. Now there are 70 songs in there. I saved and reloaded it to check. Then I got a “not enough stor…

[image] Maxxbom: My computer is a MacBook Pro M3 with 32 GB Yeah, I remembered that — and, as I started to suspect, you are running dozens of Intel processes which means that Rosetta is being loaded as well. Not a surprise that there are issues — and just for the record, we cannot officially…

If you purge, play the notes, and update the sample pool, you will use samples. But, only the samples you actually play, not all the thousands of samples and articulations that are available when the instrument is fully loaded. So, it should use way less memory.

I do that since years, seems @Maxxbom forgot the step “update sample pool”

[image] Maxxbom: I had absolutely no problem with that, because each song was its own song (project) in Logic. Then you could have one song in each gig file in GP (just like you did in Logic) and still not have a problem

You have no idea how many workarounds I’ve had to use to get Logic to run the way I want on stage. . I don’t want to deal with that anymore. That’s why I didn’t get MainStage and came straight to you guys. I’ve already taken the suggestions from Jeffn1, pianopaul, and you. I’ll report ba…

[image] Maxxbom: As I just wrote, I’m now trying predictive loading with just one song. I just need to make sure that the entire gig file with all 150 songs can be loaded. I can then load individual songs only when I need them. This guy has 550 rackspaces and no issues - he’s using a surface …

I started with a Surface Pro 4 with 8 gig ram. Then I upgraded to a SP 6 with 16 gig. Then a SP 8 still with16, then the current SP 9 with 32gig and a gen12 Intel processor. I don’t use the set list feature, and I load each song as a rackspace. Predictive is set to 1. If a song has a single guita…

Thank you for your comment and the description of your setup. With Gig Performer’s capabilities, I’m pretty sure I went in with higher expectations, expecting all songs to be available instantly. I’m lowering those expectations now. I don’t need everything immediately accessible. I didn’t have that…

I don’t deny that at all. You and your team have written some amazing software; you guys really know your stuff. I’m just a user and I’m only scratching the surface of what else is possible.

[image] bigalminal: I don’t use the set list feature, and I load each song as a rackspace. Predictive is set to 1. I think it’s important to remember that I control GP from an iPad. With 500+ songs, there’s no way that I can remember the lyrics to that number of songs. So, a 12.9” iPad Pro be…

General discussion about Gig Performer

This guy has 550 rackspaces and no issues - he’s using a surface pro so pretty sure he doesn’t have 128GB of RAM
