Regen Unvalidated

Hello GP Community,

Is anyone using Regen by Tonecarver? The plugin manager says it’s unvalidated, even though it’s a 64 bit plugin. Does it work for others?

Thank you

Can you try with a DAW?

I downloaded the zip file and copied the 64-bit DLL to a VST folder.

Seemed to scan and open just fine on my Windows 10 machine

I have no idea if it is related, but I was never able to get a plugin called SIM-BP by Quilcom working (synth bagpipe).

I have not this issue without any other plugin.

I assume you’re using Windows. Is the dll (or .vst3 file) unblocked? Right click it in explorer, choose properties. If it’s blocked there will be an unblocked checkbox (and apply/ok) button.

(If dlls are not showing up in explorer, you might need to unhide ‘system files’. )

It was blocked, but unblocking it didn’t resolve the issue.

I just downloaded in and it scans and loads fine.
Are you sure you downloaded the 64bit version? There’s a 32bit version also.

Its unblocked, and I use the 64 bit version from plugins4free.com; the last one was the 64 bit version from KVR, but neither work.

Right click on the plugin in the Plugin Manager, Remove it from the list, and scan again.

same results

Hmm you might need to update your Visual C++ x64 Redistributables. I see a comment on that site mentioning C++ runtime 2010 .

I updated the visual C++ x64 Redistributables, along with any other windows update and its still saying its unvalidated.

Did you install specifically C++ runtime 2010?

That was the solution. It’s working now. Thank you.

Hmm, I wonder if that could be the reason I could never get SIM-BP by Quilcom to work on my machine?

Could be, yeah. I have that plugin and it scans and opens in GP for me.
(Keep in mind that it is an old, buggy plugin and is prone to crashes)
