I just wanted to give back something to this wonderful community. I made a Photoshop template to make yourself a custom skin for the nanoKontrol 2.
Also attached, if you or a loved one has one of those craft cutting machines (Cricut or Silhouette Cameo) they cut the template to perfection. Here’s a Cameo design for the same template, which cut the nanoKontrol 2 skin in these photos.
This Photoshop file has all the layers so you can change colors, text, etc.
Thanks a lot @DennisT2022 , happy New Year to you as well!
Need to find some sticker cutting service, tried to print it on plain paper and buy myself, apart from spending like two days on that things came out but nearly as tidy as on those pictures
If you know anyone who has the Silhouette Cameo cutting machine, I included the cutting file for that above as well. I purchased printable vinyl stickers so after it was printed, It was cut with the Cameo machine, then peeled the cut sticker and attached it to the nanoKONTROL2
Yeah, I’ll find a way. Looks like some small ad prop production shops can print and cut custom things out of anything, you just need to send them some graphics file. They’ll charge heavily for printing just one sticker though, I suspect.
Worst case scenario, I’ll just buy a pack of sticker paper and spend two days cutting it.
Just wanted to test drive the assignments for a while before committing to a more permanent solution.
If they charged like $5 USD for a sticker, I’d go for it. Most people that do custom templates sell them for about $40 USD which is about 1/2 the price of a nanoKontrol2. Too rich for my blood.
However, I spent almost as much time cutting this out (wasting I don’t know how many dozens of sheets of paper, printer ink, and essentially my two days off) as I did trying to figure out how Photoshop-like apps work (whoever came up with that workflow should burn in the deepest levels of hell ). And the result is quite obnoxious, to add insult to injury.
So maybe after all 40 bucks is a fair price for someone who isn’t born for doing fine things by hands.
Yes, that is why I don’t have templates for any of my controllers. I just end up memorizing what the controls are for. It takes a while but sooner or later I learn them. The cost is utilizing my brain power only.
