I’m beginning to understand resampling a bit. It’s been a long time for me. I have no basic knowledge in this area. I’m just a musician and a program user. Gig performer has worked well for me since I exchanged Gsi VB3 for Hammond IK and B5, on your recommendation. Great satisfaction. I’ve found that I only have a problem with Super 8. When switching between rackpaces using just one Super 8 sound, smooth transition using Patch Persist doesn’t work. CPU only 20-40 percent. I’ve never had a problem with Massive X, even though I’ve used them in one Rackspace. With Hammond IK, I only have to be a little careful if I use more than one. Did you also find this problem with Super 8?
Yes Super 8 is a CPU hog
I try the Bliss demo version and only samples Vst. Vst3 reads but does not sample. Am I doing anything wrong? Super 8 is just Vst3.
I talked to the developer and he said VST3 support is on his list.
Bliss doesn’t work with external synths? Then it could use an instance of GP as an external synth ignoring if it involves a VST or a VST 3 plugin.
Hi,
I found that the Patch Persist feature doesn’t work when using the NI Super 8 Vst plugin, even though I only used one plugin in one Rackspace, and the CPU showed a maximum of 40 percent when switching from one Rackspace to another. I wonder if the problem is with the plugin manufacturer or with debugging on the host side. I do not rule out a mistake on my part. After many researches, I did a small test:
I tried to use 8 Vst Plugins at the same time in GP and in Cubase 10 Pro. The results of the CPU load surprised me. In Gig Performer, when the sixth plugin was inserted, the CPU was 100 percent, in Cubase, when the eight Cpu plugins were inserted, it showed about 50 percent, and without the slightest problem, I played eight sounds at once. I am attaching a photo when using plagines in both host programs. I’m pretty disappointed that the Gig Performer uses only one processor core for performance. Is it possible that it can be set somewhere in the program? I only use GP for live playing without using midi accompaniment. I can’t imagine using, for example, 16 plugins to play a midi song. In Cubase, I never noticed the Cpu limitation when using plugins. If I’m doing something wrong, please advise, because I’m very happy with the architecture of the program.
You could use multi instances of Gig Performer.
Does each instance use a different kernel?
Yes it does use a different core.
What do you mean by kernel?
Super 8 is a cpu hog, I would never use it live.
I meant the core.
Is it possible to use another instance with the same Device type /Asio/ and the same output channel?
Yes with a Multi Client Asio Driver.
Can you advise how to get to multiple instances with one midi keyboard?
Just use the same midi in plugin in both instances.
I have either one instance or another. I have the same Midi channels in both instances. I also tried midi omni.
So you are not able to get midi messages from the same device on both instances?
I can’t do it yet.
Try a virtual midi device
Get midi in the st instance and send it to a virtual midi out
In the 2nd instance use that virtual midi as input
It doesn’t even work with the LoopBe virtual midi.
