Midi "learn" is listening to localGP port

I’m sure this is self inflicted, but I don’t see how to fix.

I’m using persist 2.0 to bypass unused instruments.
also using a launch control xl mk2 and mapping buttons to radio control and two widgets.

when I midi learn and map the buttons on the LC, it sees and learns the Local GP Port value.

rig manager doesn’t show any alias occuring, but I did once accidentally click a dropdown that kept popping up and it said something about launch control and Local GP Port.

how can I make midi learn ignore local GP Port?

specs:
OSX Mac Mini M1
GP 4.8
Launch Control XL MK2.

Disassociate the alias in rig manager, don’t just relearn the mapping. This will then put up the dialogue to select the source.

The Plugin Persist Scriptlet makes use of the Local GP Port to send the CC# (defined in the Scriptlet parameters window) to bypass/unbypass the controlled plugin. But, as far as I remember, this CC# is only sent when you play notes on your controller. Nothing should happen if you try to MIDI learn another CC# based control.

I don’t see an alias in Rig Manager, but maybe I’m not understanding what I’m seeing.

dealing with 2 confusing issues at once and forgot how to read… thank you!
