macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 and Neumann MT 48 issue

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping someone from the Gig Performer team can help me.

I recently updated my Apple Silicon (M1) Mac to macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 and updated Gig Performer to version 5.2.2.

After the update, I experienced several problems:

  • Gig Performer started producing intermittent audio crackles.
  • Changing the audio driver or buffer size caused Gig Performer to crash.
  • I reinstalled Gig Performer to try to resolve the issue.
  • After reinstalling, I can no longer activate the software. The activation always fails, even though I have verified that my email address and license key are correct.

Unfortunately, I have another problem as well.

I have tried multiple times to create a support ticket through the official support website. I can fill out the entire form and click Submit, but after refreshing the page, the ticket disappears. I never receive a confirmation email, and no support ticket appears in my account.

Because of this, I currently have no way to contact the support team.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or could someone from the Gig Performer team please advise me on how to contact support?

I have a recording session today, so I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thank you very much.

I don’t know why you couldn’t create a ticket and I don’t see one there. That said, for technical support, this community forum is exactly the right place to post your issue and had you created a ticket, we would have told you to post the issue here.

However, the reason you couldn’t reactivate was because you had used up all 5 activations. I have reset your activations and you should be able to activate now.

As for the crash, you should really only change audio devices when you don’t have a gigfile loaded. Some plugins don’t like having their initial settings changed (that happens when you change audio devices) and can cause crashes - we would have to see the crash report to see why the crash occurred.

I don’t know why you would be getting crackles although I do know that people have reported issues with some versions of Tahoe.

You don’t mention what audio driver or interface you’re using.

I have reported this issue to the company that handles our support ticket system to see if they know what might have happened.

Thank you very much for your quick response.Really appreciate your help and support.

Thanks a lot.

My audio interface is a Neumann MT 48 connected via USB-C.

Did you try changing the audio settings (let’s say to 44.1 and a buffer of 256, but can try others like a 128 buffer) with an empty gig file?

Then after you change the audio settings, you can load the Gig File.

OK, so what has happened is that macOS update messed with your Neuman MT 48…

That is a known issue.

macOS Tahoe 26.5 introduced intermittent audio glitches (clicks/pops) and connection issues with the Neumann MT 48.

To fix this, you need to install the updated Neumann MT 48 Toolkit 2.0, and update your hardware firmware to v2.0

I also advise you to resist the urge to constantly update stuff. Updates can cause a lot of pain → [blog] Be careful with updates

Thank you very much for the explanation and for pointing me in the right direction.

I’ll update the MT 48 Toolkit and firmware to version 2.0 and test everything again.

Thank you again for your help. I really appreciate it.

Please let us know the results

After updating the MT 48 Toolkit and firmware, Gig Performer no longer crashes when changing the audio device or buffer size. It seems the issue has been resolved.

Thank you very much for your help!

What about the audio crackles that you reported?

So far, the audio also seems to be okay. No more crackling.

Thank you for your feedback.
I’m glad the the issue is gone now. Enjoy Gig Performer!
