List of free VSTs - put your links in here!

Since there are always special offers or give-aways to grab all around the net, i thought, we could collect those in one single thread to get a better overview.

So if you stumble upon an interesting link just put it in here…
(I will try to move the existing postings to this place too)

Today i found something for the (Metal) guitar players:

PlugInGuru have released 2 free MIDI effect plugins: ModMate and ShowMIDI.

ModMate

ModMate is a MIDI Effect Plug-In that has a number of very useful abilities. It’s able to display 4 different MIDI CC#’s and re-route them to different MIDI CC#’s or even aftertouch. You can also “stack” these 4 MIDI CC#’s to be controlled by any of the 4 MIDI CC#’s as well as pitch bend up and pitch bend down. This allows people that don’t have hardware controllers to assign 4 MIDI CC’s to be controlled with their basic MIDI hardware (Modulation Wheel and Pitch Bend).

If you enjoy this plug-in and want to say thank you, then please buy a library of patches (or two or three). That is the nicest way to say thank you and you get new sounds for your favorite software plugins to be inspired by at the same time. So thank you in advance for your support.

Available in PC or Mac format (both are included with the single file download)

ShowMIDI

This a FREE MIDI Plug-In that displays MIDI Activity with a keyboard and up to 5 faders that can be set to any of MIDI’s 127 MIDI CC#’s. The PlugIn is ReSizable and able to be set to display between 25 and 88 notes (5 different keyboard size options). This is FREE but you need to be a registered user here to add it to your account and download it.

If you enjoy this plug-in and want to say thank you, then please buy a library of patches (or two or three). That is the nicest way to say thank you and you get new sounds for your favorite software plugins to be inspired by at the same time. So thank you in advance for your support.

Ther are some free Synth-plugins from KX77FREE which seem to be a bit oldschool but also look quite promising - unfortunately they are designed for Windows only:

@schamass,

They had this same deal when they originally introduced Digital Synsations. I think this was at least 2 years ago. I grabbed it back then for free. It sounds amazing! For anyone who was considering NOT grabbing this, I would highly recommend that you do grab it!

And now might be a good time. Their download servers tend to get slammed whenever they start something like this. Now that it’s been running for awhile, it should download in a reasonable time.

Thanks @schamass, it is worth the try! I just “bought” it  I will download it later on…

Yeah… this may be a good decision. I downloaded it yesterday and i actually needed about 20 tries until the download finally succeeded.
For a “freebie” it’s a pleasant bunch of nice sounds, but wouldn’t say it’s worth the $149, so i was not too impressed in the end - but i really liked the sounds of the Falcon soundbank, they actually were impressive to me.

Voucher has expired. (Oct. 2)

You can grab a free copy of (IMHO) really nice sounding guitar amp VST!
Nembrini Audio is giving away their amp-plugin “Crunck V2”.
(They offer for free some other effects-plugins as well)
No need for ILok or such - they only thing is that you have to reister on their website.

Here’s a pretty complete list, over 400 free vsts: http://idesignsound.com/best-free-vst

I noticed the site is flagged “not secure”.

That just means they are not using SSL so your connection is not encrypted. As long as you’re not sending passwords or credit card info or filling in he contact form or the site doesn’t collect cookies and you’re not allowing cookies from all domains, etc, you’re probably fine.

However, as with all free sites, remember that you are not the customer so caveat emptor!

Good to know. I just tend be wary of free stuff online.
