In our cover band we never had the idea of playing this song, now I know why…

I would just remap the notes on that third hand part to below what I’m playing with my left hand at that time. 
On the other hand (pun intended), if Francis (Narf) actually provides a third hand with purchase of the pack, I am TOTALLY in.
One last note: I used a number of @Narf combis on my Kronos for a few years before going all virtual. He does a great job!

One of my vocalists often has nothing to do but twiddle his thumbs. I found out he could play chop-sticks. So, we blue-toothed an Artura MINI into my system and I have him play simple parts like that. He is my third hand.

You can play the melody while the low tone is played and held by the sustain pedal.
So your left hand could play the melody.
You might have to add another split to kill sustain on the chords. I’m not sure it would sound the same otherwise. Probably worth a try if you really want to do that song.
