Hi all,
I am new to the forum so I introduce myself briefly: I make music for over 30 years, mainly classical, jazz, choirs. I learned the accordion originally (and still do) but play a little bit of everything today. I am also an IT nerd for over 30 years and a professional today. But I strictly separated the two worlds until recently. (After a day of “professional IT” I wanted to make actual music in the evenings and not “continue programming / fixing technical problems”). Last year we started a coverband with some colleagues at work and I got into “real” keyboard playing. With small budget I decided to go with a mid-budget / portable stage piano (Studiologic numa-x 73) plus VSTs and a 49 key midi-controller (Arturia keylab essential mk3 49) and ..drum-roll.. GigPerformer (essential, on windows).
After those 30 years, all this midi / VST stuff finally works more or less “out of the box” and with a great tool like GigPerfomer it is finally fun to do the programming (perhaps also, because I dont do that so much anymore at work
)
So here I am - nice to meet you all!
I have set up my first panels and wiring and I roughly get along… (thanks to @Toeti for recent support!)
Here my first questions to the round:
- I managed to change the soundbanks on the numa by sending proper program change (#program, MSB,LSB both zero) when “switching to the rackspace” in the Midi-Out settings of the Numa. => I would like to change program when switching between variants. (how) Is t hat possible?
- Regarding my (new) Arturia Keylab: (How) Are you controlling GP with the Arturia? I would like to have the LEDs of the Arturia on, when a switch is on and off when the switch is off… Currently, they only blink shortly when being pressed (while the switch in the panel keeps the state due to “momentary to latching”)
- How are you using the control knob and the display of the Arturia? I saw a scripting extension for that. Can I use it with the “GP Essential?” Are there alternatives?
Thanks and a good weekend to everyone!
Sebastian.
