GP Glitching on MacBook Pro OS Catalina

How looks your audio setup window in the OS?

That is not the audio setup window

Do you mean the Audio/Midi Setup box?

Like this…?

It seems odd that the input and output channels are split into two separate devices.

You can try creating an ‘aggregate device’ to combine them, and then use the new aggregate device in GP.

Click the “+” sign at the bottom of that window and create the aggregate device. You can then select the two USB Audio Codec devices.

Just a test, deactivate the input channels in audio setup of gig performer.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too

@rank13 - @pianopaul - Creating the aggregate device in Audio/Midi Setup, and then selecting that in GP Audio i/o, appears to have resolved this issue…well at least for now - I played for about a minute using the same Kontakt Piano rig and it seemed ok. I’m juggling sorting this all out whilst also workng on my other MacBook Air in Logic, where I’m creating backing tracks of Drums/Bass and whatever for doing smaller solo/duo/trio ggs without a full band.
Will let you know if any other issues arise, and I must say a big thank-you to all of you for helping with this. Cheers, and Happy New Year…

Usually, when there is more than one audio interface, the clocks have to be synced. I wonder if the fact that there were apparently 2 separate audio interfaces (one for inputs only, the other for outputs only) meant there were two separate clocks? If so, in the aggregate device, one of them should be the master and the others should have Drift Correction enabled

@dhj I really appreciate your input (no pun intended) on this. That said, I’m not up to speed on ‘clocking’ and such; even though I’ve been using computerts in music production since the 1980s, using an Atari 1040 ST running Steinberg Pro 24 sequencing software, and many many DAWs since then, I’ve never really gotten ‘under the hood’ in regards to the back end of computer systems. Thanks again, and I’ll probably be back here in the forum as I learn how to build and use rigs etc in GP. Be Well…

No worries - it was just a general observation — it’s very weird that that device exposed two separate audio interfaces. You might want to ask M-Audio.
