Had a lifesaver experience last night.
A power surge burned out our guitarist’s FX pedalboard. We had no guitarist, apparently…
I said to the band, “um, no problem”. I merged my 7/8 outputs to my 5/6 outputs so the
guitar could output his magic through my audio interface via the 7/8 outputs and I quickly activated instrument input 1, plugged his guitar there and loaded an Overloud guitar rig in global.We configured it so he could play “clean” with a little saturation and delay and also a heavy distortion, whenever he needed, by doing whatever guitarists do on their guitar knobs.
Five minutes to set up a rig to save the evening!
He absolutely loved the sound we programmed in no time at all.

The Predictive Loading feature just saved my a– !!! Seriously!
I’m getting ready to go on a tour in Japan with the Security Project.
My main laptop is a 5 year old Macbook Pro with a 17″ screen. It has 16Gb RAM and SSDs instead of hard drives for both speed and reliability.

Gig Performer saved my A** yesterday. The club‘s keyboard was starting to send weird mod Wheel and Pitch band signals over MIDI without touching them! I was playing partially out of tune regarding to the changing pitch bend signals. I used the MIDI Monitor to see what was going on.
My rescue then was the MIDI In block. I just blocked the incoming MIDI from both wheels - that saved me and took me about 30 seconds (during a song on stage).
I highly recommend to block not used MIDI, especially if you play with other people’s equipment.
After that, the show was a blast (and all was in tune)!

Gig Performer is a real life saver and very intuitive to use. I had to make a last-minute change “live” once to resolve an unanticipated challenge: a house provided MIDI keyboard that was lacking a modulation wheel that I use occasionally in performance. No problem. I simply assigned that function to an unused dial on another controller that I have, and the problem was solved. Everything worked as expected. Now I have a backup mod wheel saved if I ever need it again.
