Our developers attended NAMM, and we wanted to share with you some photos and videos of their time there, and the places where we found Gig Performer making a special appearance.
I have an honest question for David, but also for everyone involved with midi guitar software vs hardware. I would like to know what option does it have better tracking response, a midi hardware pickup or software solutions like midi guitar. I haven’t tried midi pick ups, but without trying, my bet will be hardware solution for a more “direct contact” with the strings. Then we might argue that it might depend the midi instrument you want to play as lofileif have mentioned in some if his videos( also the picking technique you are using!) but thats why i am asking here to a bigger audience
I’m not sure how to answer this. For a start, my guitar skills have gotten really rusty as I haven’t played guitar seriously in many year. Further, having searched for many years for a decent alternate controller that would give me really decent control over such things as vibrato, I ended up using an Eigenharp Alpha so never really bothered much with guitars again.
I must say the Jamstik did seem to work pretty well and I’m sure that in the hands of a good player it would be very flexible. However, I have heard very good reports of the Jam Origin system which is totally software but I’ve never tried it myself so can’t really give a legitimate personal opinion.
