I have been happily using my current setup live for several months with no issues,
Mac M1 16GB RAM
Ventura 13.6.1
Gig Performer 5
I have created 60 rackspaces, all work as expected and sound superb.
Whilst looking at incorporating Vocoder V in a rackspace I realised I hadn’t had the Motu M4 inputs selected as my Input device. I corrected that, but after a few while I noticed that when changing rackspaces I was sometimes getting a "fluttering sound’ when i hit the first notes after a change.
It seems quite random, can’t pin it down to any particular rackspaces or VSTs.
As i had a gig in a few days i changed the input device back and all was well again.
I now have had some more time to test, but are getting the same results.
I have now come back to this after being away for a week. The issue is still there on some of my rackspaces, whether the Input muting is set to 0s or 10s.
Ok, after some more testing the issue is not down to the Motu 4. When I have switched Audio interface to a Scarlett 8i6 I get the same issue.
Further testing has revealed that the issue seems to affect only rackspaces with B-3X in them.
Even if i don’t play the Hammond sound, the other sounds have the same fluttering for a few seconds. CPU is at most 30-40% so not extreme.
If I bypass the B-3X the other sounds in the rackspace are fine. I was able to bypass the B-3X whilst I was playing another sound within several differnt rackspaces, and the fluttering stopped instantly.
Still no further with this, spent several hours looking at parameters in B-3X, still no joy.
I might need to replace B-3x completely, this is starting to eat up too many hours where I should be actually playing keyboards.
Just a random thought. Have you tried turning off/down the Leslie sim and just using the DI out of the B-3x to see if that helps? I sometimes notice the Leslie makes a noise even when I dont play through it, just like they do in real life I guess.
Check the Generator Leakage setting. It’s accessed via the Advanced Button when the Organ tab is selected. That will definitely throw out some noise when nothing is played if turned up too much. Also check the gain and volume settings on the Leslie. That along with high leakage could lead to the sound you’re hearing
