Fluttering sound Motu M4

Did you try delete and reinstall the plugin?

Can you upload an audio example of what the noise is?

Just a quick recording with my phone.

I would be tempted to uninstall and reinstall B3-X as Paul suggested. I wouldn’t think that would take too long.

I suppose you should consider that you might lose your settings for particular sounds (but I wouldn’t think so if you open the reinstalled version in the same Gig file. But, at least think about that before doing it).

[Also, maybe this was touched on, but make sure there is not some way the plugin is somehow set to a different setting than GP in your audio interface (buffer and sample rate). You are using B3X as a plugin? (not stand alone)]

Jeff

Is is the clicking sound? That would be in the key click settings and part of the Hammond emulation

I have uninstalled, and reinstalled B-3x. still no difference unfortunately.

I did check the buffer settings previously:

I have just tried turning all Key Click settings to min, no joy I’m afraid.

Thanks
Matt

Is the sound you recorded while hitting notes or while not touching anything?

I’ll throw out something else to look at in B-3X. Is there a Noise Gate (may be a wild goose chase, but you never know). (If so, maybe tweak it and see what happens.)

Ok I think I have solved the issue…

I have changed the Mac’s sound settings, it was using the M4 as its input device.
After doing that i have no further “fluttering” , maybe it was creating a loop back or something.

Who knows. I have been playing for several hours and have had no further issues.

Thanks all for you help!
Matt

Aha - question - does the B-3X have any audio input pins? And if so, what are they used for?

No audioinput pins.

Yeah…I bet I know what happened.

Their plugin reports that they don’t use audio inputs but I bet they are not clearing the audio buffers so anything that happened to be in the buffers just got passed through.

We’ve seen this before from IK in one of their compressors where there was no MIDI input and they weren’t clearing the MIDI input buffers consequently MIDI CC messages coming into GP were being processed by that compressor even though there was no MIDI connection. We couldn’t get IK to pay attention and we ended up adding in a hack to our system to detect that plugin and clearing the buffers ourselves.

Please report this problem to IK and perhaps include a link to this discussion topic.

OK will do, hope they do something about it.
Cheers

Have you reported this issue to IK? They are asking me for more info - but you’re their customer so it would be more helpful if it came from you

Not yet, will do this week. I was programming all week for a 3 gig weekend….

Please do - they are waiting for your information

No response at all from IK Multimedia, great customer support.

The work around for my issue doesn’t seem to be working anymore, so I’m back to square one.

Looks like I will need to find a new Hammond vst for the time being, any thoughts?

Take a look at Blue3 from Cherry Audio
