External Instruments with GP 5

Hello,

I want to use 2 keyboards in the setup for a show next week. Of these 2, one will control all orchestral instruments and the other, a Nord Grand, I want to use for piano sounds and in addition, organ sounds that are coming from an external Roland VK-8 module. I want to split the Nord Grand to have the piano at the bottom half of the keyboard and the organ at the top half of the keyboard.

The Nord has a USB jack on the back but the VK-8 has only midi jacks. However I have an iConnect midi module that has midi jacks and a USB jack that can connect to the laptop with GP 5.

The question I have is how to physically connect all jacks and setup in GP5 the split I mentioned at the top of this post.

Don’t do the splits with the Nord. Turn off “Local On” and do the splits using MIDI IN blocks. Then route them to your Nord and to your Roldand with MIDI Out blocks
