Drum kit to use with midi file player

Hello

I would like to use a good plugin/vst to play the drumtrack of my midi files.
I tried different kontakt drum libraries but they are not ok as they dont seem to fit de GM standard (where I should ear a snare I ear a conga, for example) .

Any tips on a “good to go” kontakt library or some other vst that does the job?

You need to change the drum mapping for the Kontakt drum library you want to use.

A response by a Native Instruments customer support person to a similar question:

On the options page of the Kontakt libraries, there is a drop-down that allows to select different drum mapping.

I don’t have any of the Kontakt drum libraries installed because I use Superior Drummer 3, so I can’t verify or provide a screen shot, so I hope this tip works for you. If it doesn’t, or you can’t find the drum map selection drop-down, let me know and I’ll install on of the libraries and check.

Is it possible to use Superior Drummer 3 to play the midi file (usually the drumtrack is on midi channel 10)?

No matter which drum software and instrument library you use, you will need to load the proper drum map. Channel 10 is pretty standard, but which kit piece is assigned to which MIDI note is not. That’s why you need a map.
