Cracklings with MS Surface Pro 7+, RME Fireface UC

Hello everyone,
I’ve just acquired a used MS Surface Pro 7+ featuring an i7 processor clocked at 2.80 GHz, 32 GB of RAM, and Windows 11 as the operating system.
However, I’ve noticed that I’m experiencing a lot of crackling when using plugins such as Arturia Jup-8 or RealStrat (MusicLab). I am using an RME Fireface UC as my audio interface.

I’ve also already tried connecting a different audio interface (an X32), but I got the exact same result.

Has anyone else experienced this, and can you offer any tips on how to resolve it?

Best regards,
Franjo

Hundreds of tips.

Is 2.8 the max CPU (with Turbo)?Maybe list the actual chip?

It‘s a Intel Core i7-1165G7.

  1. What does the GP CPU meter show when you have this crackling?
  2. 2.8 GHz is unlikely to be fast enough. Arturia themselves recommend at least 3.4 GHz

From what I’m reading, 2.8 is base cpu. I’m reading it can get up to 4.7.

You should implement the guide Npudar mentioned.

For example, do you have Ultimate Power Plan selected?
