Blue Cat Connector and GP

Hi All
Has anyone got any experience with Blue Cat Connector crashing GP? Tried Repair GP, Reinstall GP and BC, different plugin versions etc. Unable to get reply for quite a while from Blue Cat, maybe is on extended vacation. Any pointers greatly appreciated ta

Why are you using that rather than GP Relayer?

Hi
Im using GP Relayer to goto Nuendo to record but want to use a slave pc to run large fx chains… Its just to have it all set and ready to go.

Can Gp Relayer do that also? Ive tried it and cant seem to get it to work with a slave pc

cheers
Jon

No - GP Relayer is intended to communicate with other apps (including multiple GP instances) on the same computer.

If you want to use multiple servers, perhaps check out the free audio grid stuff. NB - I’ve never tried that stuff myself but it’s supposed to be pretty good

I use BC Connector regularly, transmitting audio from multiple instances of GP between two different machines. I haven’t had any crashes while doing this, so I wonder what other factors are involved.

Cheers guys, yeah Ive used Audiogridder but it’s the flexibility of the midi learn using plugins inside GP that I really love, Connector works best for that I reckon.
Good to hear you’re not having crashes, must be my machine so will dig deeper - thanks all!

If anyone’s interested I’ve since discovered a truly remarkable piece of donationware software called VB Audio Coconut. Hugely surpasses expectations, I’m loving it.

We already discussed a lot about the VB Audio products:

I wasn’t optimistic, but I was rather surprised the way it is now. Much better than I expected.

I use GP relayer now instead of BC, but I am interested to know why there is a 10 instance limit for this? I’ve pretty much used all 10 in my setup and can see the temptation to exceed this if I get creative…. But presumably this would be bad practice?

Would it run into performance / buffer problems (as does BC when you stack them up)?
