Symptom: Certain Steinberg VST3 plugins are failed in the Plugin Manager.
Retrologue, Padshop, Loopmash, Halion Sonic, Grove Agent, SpectraLayers, etc.

Explanation: These are the special versions of the plugins that come installed with a DAW (Cubase or Nuendo). Therefore, they only work within those apps, by design.

Solution: You must buy standalone (“unlocked”) versions of these plugins to work in any VST host.
Many DAWs include proprietary versions of their plugins so unless you buy the standalone versions (if they’re even available), it won’t work (i.e. their status will be “FAILED”).
