That approach is legacy - the preferred approach is to use the rig manager, which will also support your controls (knobs, sliders, etc) when controllers change.

I hope you’ve had a great weekend!! I too cannot get any sound when pressing my controller keys. I also get sound when pressing the keys on the Triton plugin. None of the “Strings”?? light up when depressing keys on my controller. This is my first foray into midi. I have no idea how to resolve this.

Your controller is probably sending MIDI messages on the wrong channel,
