For this kind of thing I use 3M Velcro which is wonderful.

I’m experimenting with 3M Dual Lock.
A little thicker and gender agnostic and seems to be stronger if the glue coating can hold it -

I used double sided mounting tape and some machine screws that fit the mounting threads on the bottom of the MOTU. I also applied a bit of lightweight (blue) threadlock to help keep the screws in place during transport.
So far, it has held up well. I do need to add something at the end of the shelf to secure it to the back rails but it’s pretty stable without that. A few zip ties are probably enough to keep it from flexing too much
It does believe me! But, clean the surfaces before.
