Is it possible to start and stop an ALESIS SR-16 physical drum machine? If so, can some one point me in the right direction?
Do you know what MIDI messages are needed to start/stop?
As far as i can remember, the SR-16 doesn’t have a special MIDI “command” for Start/Stop.
You can set it to listen and sync to an external MIDI-Clock, so if GP was able to send out a MIDI-Clock signal as a master (which isn’t yet implemented AFAIK), the SR-16 would start/stop in sync with Gig Performer… but at the moment this doesn’t seem to work that easily.

There is a work around kind of a way to send MIDI clock using GP its MIDI File Player, but you have to create a MIDI file with the clock
