Agreed! I didn’t hear of ZZ Top until their 3rd album, Tres Hombres, was released. The local underground FM station, Radio Free Madison, played 3 songs and mentioned that they were doing a show at the Dane County Coliseum that night. Bought a ticket and went. Super good show! Went to the local record store on State St. the next morning and bought all 3 LPs. I still remember the cashier’s comment, laughing: “instant collection, hunh?” I agreed, paid, went back to my apartment and played all 3 straight through. Might have been a little herbaceous product involved, too.
