Windows to Mac Issue

Hi. Just cross graded as I now have a Mac. On opening my existing gig file (from Windows) I note an error/problem in the many wiring setups.

I have “Top” and “Bottom” aliases for my two keyboards set in Rig Manager. The MIDI plugin for “Top” is OK but the plugin for “Bottom” has changed to Midi IN (Omni) across al 60 of my backspaces.

Any help would be appreciated before I have to manually change them. Thanks.

You can replace your MIDI inputs in one go.

Thanks. That’s appreciated.

It also seems to have lost all the MIDI assignments on my panels and global MIDI stuff for switching songs although that’s not such a big deal.. I usually have four volume controls per rackspace controlled by a Keylab 61.

Do you think this is a rig manager issue and could I take a step back and reload the original file from Windows?

You can export your Gig Performer settings from Windows. See here:

[blog] Gig Performer Maintenance: Save, Export, and Backup

HI. I did import the rig manager settings and all the aliases work ok. Two keyboards, Boss MIDI pedal and several encoders and faders on the Keylab 61 all react correctly in rig manager.

For each rack space, I have a panel with four volume controls (each rack space has an 8 channel mixer for 4 x stereo outs). These were mapped to the correct alias but it appears to have been lost now I’ve opened the gig file on a Mac. I tried another gig file too and it’s the same.

My understanding was that you could have both a PC and a Mac reading from the same gig file. Is this not correct? I appreciate that I have a lot to learn.

I just fired up the PC and the same gig file works as it should. The gig file is accessible from Onedrive.

Thanks.

Update. I exported all options from PC and imported into Mac version. This appears to have fixed it including the MIDI aliases. I’ll do some testing…..

For some reason, the rig manager recognises one of the keyboards (SL73) by another name.

Thanks for your support.

What other name?

Very cool. Thanks for the feedback
Hope you find those articles useful.

Literally a few letters but it was enough for it not to be recognised. I reassigned it correctly and that’s when I noticed the MDI plugins had changed so I wondered if that was the reason. All good now.

Very useful thanks. Support on here is excellent.
