Struggling with a new issue where I cant open 2 instances of gp without my comp slowing down and the mouse cursor starts lagging. If I close gp I cant reopen it without restarting windows. Then one instance will open and run fine but 2 causes the problem. Im trying everything I can because ive ran em before no issues. The comp is a pc with more than ample stats. Latencymon says the audio system is running perfectly. I run 3 monitors and I tried some troubleshooting i found on here in the forums but still haven’t solved it. Ty if anyone knows where to try first
FWIW, I’d look in the Task Manager and see how much ram and cpu you are using.
Maybe there is something running that is using a lot of CPU or Ram that needs to be shut down?
OK - so when did this issue start? What changed on your system?
I guess I posted this in Jan also when it was happening.. so off and on I think since then. Other than software installation and windows updates I dont change much and the system is only a yr old and was built. Ive never been this close to buying a Mac but it could be time considering im reinstalling windows im hoping somthing works. Ty
When you start the second instance, the first instance can become a background app. I have seen that cause that instance to get thrown into an efficiency core. And, when I switch back to it, it stays in the e-core. There’s nothing worse than trying to run GP in an e-core. I went into the BIOS and disabled all e-cores so that GP has to always run in a performance core. There is no other core for it to run in.
If you have not disabled your e-cores, you might do that and see if it resolves your problem.
Well thats a new direction I can try ty. I will have to figure that out
