Looking at it on PedalPlayground, it just might fit! Some right angle connectors should do the trick
I have a UFX though I started with a UCX over a decade ago - it is really nice, which is not a surprise of course.
It is the Class Compliant mode I mentioned earlier in this thread. I had forgotten that it is not compatible with TotalMix FX on a computer, because I only used it once for a live show with my iPad, where the TotalMix FX for iPad app works in Class Compliant mode.
It is definitely not the default mode, but it is very easy to enable. As @Stupakeef pointed out, his RME UCX was already working before he even installed TotalMix FX (which comes with the proprietary driver). If it was operating without a proprietary driver, then the interface must have already been in Class Compliant mode at that time.
Ah got it - thanks
it just occurred to me that since I always use active pickups, I donât need a DI and since the Digiface USB can take Optical SPDIF, I could just use a two channel AD/DA and really be set. Not so long ago, all the prosumer guys, ART, Midiman/Maudio, Echo, and so many others had two channel to adat or two channel to toslink converters, but now I can;t find any. I see tons on Amazon for less than 20 bucks going to RCA jacks, but who knows if theyâre ok. Any decent priced AD/DA out there? Iâm aware of the RME ones, but not really looking to spend that
20 dollar converter from Amazon. RME says sync. I canât hear any latency but will measure later. Next trying the 20 dollar amazon DAC. Allegedly those have major latency
I might be remembering this a bit incorrectly as it was some time ago, but one time I needed to convert SPIDIF to analogue and was able to do it through my wifeâs Focusrite interface in standalone mode. If I recall correctly it was able to remember the last state it was in without being hooked up to a computer and was able to do the conversion with power only. I donât remember which model she had, I think it was a four channel version, so I donât know if all Focusrite units can do that, but it might be worth looking into. Other manufacturers might have the same feature as well.
My 4th gen 4i4 does not support SPDIF, but the 16i16 and much more expensive 18i16 do. My guess would be that she had an older generation equivalent of the 16i16.
So, I went and checked and it turned out to be a Scarlett 6i6. What I mis-remembered what that it was coax SPIDIF instead of optical SPIDIF. The synth I needed to use it with had both (Roland SCD-70) and I usually used it with optical. If i remember correctly I needed balanced outputs for the Roland and couldnât use the RCA outputs it comes with, and the Focusrite was able to convert SPDIF to balanced line out without being hooked up to a computer. I just remembered the 6i6 was a small enough unit to fit on a pedalboard, and the stand alone feature was pretty impressive and worked well.
