Usually after using GP for a while the task manager drifts down to about 50%.
I don’t think I made any change in my computer.
But, now it is staying at close to 100% even though I have been on GP for about 1/2 hour or so.
It is functioning fine (thankfully), but that gets me a bit anxious.
Windows 10 (Lenovo Thinkpad) 64 GP of ram (big gig file). (I did not do the latest GP (minor) update yet)
Any thoughts?
(I am going to work, so anything I check will have to wait till I get back).

What is the cpu audio usage shown in Gig Performer?

I think normal.
Depends on rackspace high in 50s (no crackling) empty rackspace 5-7, I think.
I’ll test again when I get home.

I don’t think so.
I’ll report back this evening after trying it again.
Yep, if you want, let me know any info I should gather.

Well, I started up my laptop and GP. Everything behaved like it had normally done (ram starting close to 100% in the Task Manager when starting GP and going down to about 50% over time) .
So, I will chalk this up to Windows (ram management) working in mysterious ways. (And even when the ram use stayed elevated, everything seemed to function fine).
As always, thanks for helping me out!

I assume plugin persist is off.
Which plugins take that much?
How many plugin instances are there total?
That does not sound right.

Plugin persist might be on depending on the rackspace, but shouldn’t affect ram, I wouldnt think? (Predictive Loading is off).
I have a decent amount of big sample libraries loaded.
Hopefully won’t happen again. (And did not seem to affect anything).
Thx though!

Yes, and I do use Kontakt’s purge tool sometimes.
But, I also re-use plugins a lot. So purging is a bit trickier.
I am also trying to use more physically modeled plugins when I can
