When controlling the TRANSPOSE parameter of the Neural DSP guitar plugin using MIDI signals from a DAW, I want the MIDI number display to match the TRANSPOSE value.

■Background Information
DAW : Studio One 7
OS : Windows 11
MIDI routing : DAW→loopMidi→Expression Pedal on GP→NollyX on GP

Hello!
I’m a guitarist from Japan.
I’m new to GP.
I need some help.

I am sending MIDI signals from my DAW to NollyX in NeuralDSP within GP and adjusting the TRANSPOSE parameter.

I am having trouble because the value displayed when sending MIDI signals from the DAW does not match the TRANSPOSE value.

When you launch NollyX in a DAW and control TRASPOSE via MIDI, the TRASPOSE value and the MIDI value match.

If TRASPOSE is 0st, the MIDI display shows 0; if it is -5, it shows -5.

As shown in the image below, I would like the visual representation to match, as in ①, where the MIDI signal value in the DAW is -5, which corresponds to TRANSPOSE-5.

When sending a MIDI signal to NollyX in GP as shown in ②, the visual information does not match if the MIDI signal value in the DAW is -40 (TRANSPOSE -5).

①NollyX on DAW
DAWmidi -5 TRANSPOSE -5

②NollyX on GP
DAWmidi:-40
Expression Pedal on GP:-5
Nolly X on GP:-5

This is because when you control Neural in your DAW you are using Host Automation.
When you send MIDI from your DAW to Gig Performer you are using pure DAW and not Hos Automation.
Therefore the „mismatch“
This is by design of MIDI and Host Automation.

Thank you for your reply!
So, does that mean it’s difficult to resolve due to the DAW’s specifications?

When you adjust the transpose value in a DAW and send a MIDI Note Out message from your DAW to some other program, all that happens is that the DAW adjusts the Note Number of the MIDI message being sent out to account for the desired transpose. The receiving application (whether Gig Performer or any other application) has no way to know that the transpose in your DAW changed as all that is seen is the result of that transpose.

One solution is to NOT change the transpose in your DAW but rather, in Gig Performer, map a widget to the Transpose parameter in a System Actions plugin and then control that widget from your DAW using a CC number (say)
