I just purchased several Waves plugins that were on sale recently. After I installed them, I was appalled to find that their VST3 plugins do not work in Gig Performer. I called their Tech Support people and he logged into my computer with Team viewer and finally said, “We do not support our plugins on Gig Performer.” WTF?
I use plenty of Waves VST3s in Gig Performer. Are you on Mac or Windows?
Yeah, see this blog article

Exactly.
FWIW… I have a lot of Waves plugins and use them in GP all the time. They often sound better than the built in reverbs or delays that come with some V-Synths. I think since Waves was bought out by Kingswood Capital Private Equity their support went downhill. This is the sad state of affairs for many reknown software brands. Ableton refuses to go this route and would rather maintain control of their product so they claim they won’t sell. I hope Deskew never sells either.
I have over 50 Waves plugins that work fine in GP. I have been a fan of Waves for a long long time. I reecently bought two plugins from Waves: Bass Slapper and Bass Fingers. Bass Slapper works flawlessly, sounds great and is very playable. Bass fingers on the other hand will not work at all! I tried it in Live and it works fine there. Be advised before you buy. ![]()
I quit using Waves in GP because they only load 50% of the time, and I mean literally that. Every other time I launch GP, all my Waves plugins are not found. If I quit and relaunch, it works fine. I did this 16 times in a row and they consistently failed to load every other time. It’s the oddest issue I’ve seen. especially since it works fine on my laptop.
That gimped license server B.S., plus their little Creative Access PR disaster last spring, was enough to get me to start moving away from Waves entirely. I only use a few of their plugins with any regularity anymore, and never with GP. It’s a shame too, because they do have some great plugins that I really liked (H-Delay, MaxxBass, H-Reverb, Clarity VX, BassRider, Waves Tune RT, etc…).
Sounds like they didn’t initialize properly. Did you maybe try with the Delayed Start feature in the Plugin manager?
I also just cut all my Waves plugins, I systematically started moving away from them last year. Now I don’t have to deal with the long delay for the “Waves Shell” (whatever that is) for every version of Waves plugin you have installed. Good riddance.
Edit: Waves now does support Gig Performer.
