I am pretty new to Gig Performer and Native Instruments Kontakt.
I have a rackspace with Wulitzer piano “Wurley Crunchy Mellow” from the Contact factory library and I added a variation where I want to add the wah effect like in the Floyd song “Money”. Does anyone know if that can be done with the Kontakt software itself or recommend a plug in that would have that effect? I would imagine the guitar rig software would but looking for a cheaper solution!
A wah-wah is basically a band-pass filter and you can certainly throw one of those into the Insert Effects section of a Kontakt instrument. Enable host automation and then associate it with a widget in Gig Performer, then associate that widget with a physical MIDI expression pedal, say, and you’re done. There are several band-bass filters to choose from so try them all.
We actually perform that song when we do our Dark Side tribute and although I used to use guitar rig, I started using the OB-LA effect from Plug & Mix bundle (VIP Bundle by Plug & Mix) which is an auto-wah and it saves you from having to use a pedal at all. Although I don’t use Kontakt for the electric piano, I’m otherwise doing exactly as you describe with a variation which enables the effect.
Just for completeness … there are many Wah Wah plugins out there, but as David mentioned - it’s basically just a band-pass filter…
Quick Google search produced bunch of links for free Wah Wah VSTs, but one would have to research if they are for OS X or Windows (not sure which platform you are on).
There is one that costs $5.99 and looks promising although I haven’t tried it myself. It works on OS X and Windows and it has a demo version so you can try it before you decide it’s with the $6 bucks.

Thanks Guys i will look into the links you provided! Having a blast with Gig Performer its unbelievably simple and just works like it’s supposed to!
