I programmed a harp glissando in a scene and am holding a string chord with my other hand.
I noticed that when I hold the string chord and then start the glissando, the strings suddenly become quieter. Why is that? It can hardly be the polyphony of the Roland Fantom 07, can it?
It would be nice if the strings remained at the same volume despite the glissando.
Yes, of course I use GigPerformer for the glissando I just wanted to rule out the possibility that it could be the device I have GigPerformer running in Kontakt 8 with a harp and glissando, and strings via split zone. Everything runs through GP, and as soon as I trigger the harp glissando, the strings get quieter.
Yes, from Native’s Factory Library harp.
But I don’t know if it’s because of Kontakt or GP, so I’m asking here if anyone has experienced something similar or has any ideas.
I can’t get any volume differences in the strings. I did have to turn down the glissando a bit. It was pretty overbearing. But, no matter what volume I sat it at, the strings stayed at a steady volume. The initial attack of the glissando does make a possible illusion that the volume of the strings seem to decrease. But, watching the individual levels, I can’t see a decrease in the strings.
Okay, you’re right, but that would mean it’s an acoustic illusion? The level in the GP mixer for the strings actually stays exactly the same when the glissando runs through.
