I’ve put it off for a while but I at last want a couple of plugins that run under Kontakt Player. NI makes this kindof convoluted requiring first registering with Native ID, then installing Native Access which then loads a Native Daemon allowing you to download Kontakt 8 Player. My rig balks at Native Access saying it can’t find the proper version of VC++ runtime distribution even when I explicitly path them. Internet consensus seems to be removing all VC++ redists and then intalling the newest (2022 if I remember correctly). I wouldn’t ordinarily have a problem with this but all of my other plugins use vc++ redists flawlessly so I’m a little concerned I may throw out the baby with the bathwater if I do this. Should I set a restore poiont before attempting? Any other thoughts from power-users?
You should just be able to download the latest from Microsoft, install it, and be good to go.
The Microsoft official download link for the latest is Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn
You’ll see multiple versions there, so download and install the one that’s right for you. Most likely that’s the bottom one, the X64 package.
I’d give that a try first, and if you still have problems paste an image of the error popup you’re getting.
