Very good ChordPro converter (online tool)

Today i discovered a little gem in the the internet…
A (obviously) very talented guy, called Bill Menees, programmed an online converter for plain chords-over-text notated files to be converted into a proper ChordPro format.
From my point of view, this tool does a great job!
Our singer tends to write all our chord sheets as docx/pdf files, which is ok for him and also for the other guys in the band, but for anyone who uses software which works with chordpro files (like me), converting such a plain text, causes quite a few headaches.
Now i can simply copy & paste the “dumb” text into the converter and save it as a proper ChordPro file! I guess, i should buy this man a beer or a coffee! :sunglasses: :beers:

Try, if this works for you as well:

BTW the converter is “Charity Ware”! It’s the first time i heard of that, and i find it a great concept! This is a quote from the author’s home page:

Just for the records: if you visit Ultimate Guitar like me, there’s a similar online tool available to convert the UG sheets to ChordPro - however often needs some additional work to make it work right:

Just copy the the text from the UG site and paste it to the converter.
Main rework is needed if there are some double chord lines etc.

Bit stillsaves a lot of time

FWIW re Charity Ware. It’s been decades since I learned how much overhead big-name charities take out of donations to fund their bureaucratic operations and advertising. And that doesn’t include the huge overhead cost to major corporations who run donation projects through scheduled deductions from your paycheck. United Way is the absolute WORST at this. I got into huge fights with an ex-father-in-law who was a volunteer county manager for United Way. Plus, if they shame you into signing an ongoing payroll deduction, it will start immediately. Then try to stop it. Good f’ing luck. DAMHIKT. :grimacing:

Find a local animal shelter or food kitchen, for example. Pick an organization where 100% of your donation will go the ones needing the help.

Yeah… it’s exactly that simple! :slightly_smiling_face:
So i don’t think this is the right place for ranting… no one forces you to donate to big charity organizations. Give some beggar at the corner a Dollar or a sandwich and it would be a good deed as well.
