I guess I should clarify. I’m ASSUMING it was Windows Updates that caused it because I didn’t make any other changes. One day, I simply open up B3X standalone and attempted to change presets. Then it would crash.
IK support suggested I uninstall and clean any registry cruft from the app. Reboot. Reinstall. That’s what I did. Then it worked again. Until one day it didn’t again. Did the same thing. Uninstall, clean up registry, reinstall, and it’s working again now. But it doesn’t make me feel very confident, especially since there is no explanation as to why.
I suppose it’s possible a Windows update crashed it, but a subsequent Windows update fixed it. I don’t really know. But it seems to be working well now. Who knows?
I am very disappointed to hear VB3-II is crashing for you. I had stopped using it because of crashes and unreliability. Their new version is re-written and thus I am currently using it without issues.
For a replacement I highly recommend Blue3. A different character of sound but excellent. However, the Leslie in VB3-II is superior. Cherry Audio is taking over support and development of Blue3.
I am seriously considering removing VB3-II now. I hope they come back with an explanation for your crash.
I thought GSi had rewritten VB3-II specifically to address stability issues. Is GP development communicating with GSi regarding issues with this plugin?
I know there was an issue with the VST3 version not retaining the selected patch. I ran into this problem and GSi fixed it.
Wonder if this new crash only affects the VST3 version? I switched all my rackspace instances to the VST2 version. Even though GSi fixed the patch selection issue with the VST3 version I haven’t switched my rackspaces back from using VST2.

Dennis - if you are really into the VB3 (as am I…only I use the original, 32 bit version), you might want to try using jBridge. It will create a “shell” around your plugin and that may prevent it from any further crashing.
It is a VERY cheap solution if it works, as well as a VERY cheap experiment if it doesn’t! Much cheaper than bringing in a new plugin. If you are happy with the sound and workflow of your current organ, I would certainly give it a shot.
