I downloaded and installed the free NI Kontakt 6 player and the free Kontakt Factory Collection sounds on my Windows laptop. They run fine stand-alone. However, I don’t see Kontakt in the list of available plug-ins when in I’m in GP. Is the free player not supported as a plug-in, or am I doing something wrong?
Did you scan in Plugin Window?
Yes, I added the folder that Kontakt created (C:\Users\Public\Public Documents) added the folder to the scan list, and re-scanned.
I read the article dhj referenced. I don’t believe the problem is due to any of the suggested root causes, but I could be wrong…
Is that really the correct folder? That does not sound like the right folder for a plugin from NI.
Did you look in that folder to see if the DLL is actually located there?
My bad. The DLLs are located in C:\Program Files\Native Instruments. Once I added that the the scan list and re-scanned, it found the plug-ins for Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol. Thank you dhj and pianopaul!!
For the record, the complete URL for 64-bit NI plugins on Win10 is:
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit
