Using Android tablet for song lyrics via wireless or bluetooth

What is the best way to connect a wireless or bluetooth android tablet to display song lyrics in GP.

Help me,

what should the android table do in Gig Performer?

just display song lyrics synced with GP. I’m just a newbie at this but thought that I could connect a tablet for lyrics via MIDI. Sounds like this is still being developed.

If you run an app like MobileSheets on your Android device that displays lyrics, you can certainly send a MIDI message to it from GP to switch to the appropriate song.

You can get some ideas here. See apps such as Mobile Sheets or Band Helper.

Read a little about MobileSheets. I just read about BandHelper also.

I use Mobile sheets and have pdf charts on the device. (I would never want to rely on wifi for that).

I use a bluetooth pedal to turn pages, but some people have raised concerns with using bluetooth for this.

(My set up is not too advanced because certain limitations in my hardware, so I have to change songs on Mobilesheets, in Gig Performer, and my hardware keyboard separately, but many people have them all linked. I will let them comment on this).

I use an iPad for lyrics and quite a bit more. The iPad is my main controller, and when setup is complete, I never have to touch the PC again. The iPad handles lyrics and all the midi commands anyone would ever need. The iPad program I use is called OnSong.
