I need to use my iPhone as a cabled external monitor, and Sonoma is telling me I need to upgrade to do that. Is it safe? And if so - should I go the whole hog to Tahoe?
Take a look to the app called Duet

While Gig Performer is known to work fine, you might want to check with the developers of the plugins you use to make sure that they work…same for the audio device driver for your audio interface.

Duet works, thank you. I’d forgotten I’d bought it a few years back.
The config I’ve settled on is as follows:
- Duet to extend my main MacBook display to my iPhone via a cable
- Amphetamine on MacBook to stop the (iPhone) display turning off when I close the MacBook lid
- GP Selector extension to provide an iPhone-size screen optimised display of songs and song parts
- Hardware buttons on Arturia Keylab mapped to Song and Song Part (Previous & Next).
I have been on Sequoia for the last year - no (serious) issues. Just updated my ‘production’-MBP to Tahoe this weekend. Everything fine!
Rule #1: never upgrade to a major release before .1 or .2
