Updated VST rig

I spent some time this weekend redoing my gigging rig for gig performer. The biggest change is swapping out my motu-m4 for a RME fireface UCX II as the audio interface. Lately I’ve had some weird issues where the motu wasn’t regognized after booting up, or it was but wasn’t producing sounds. swapping out to a different unit didn’t seem to help, so I ordered a used RME to use with my office Mac Studio for the past few weeks and it proved to be very solid, so I’m making a similar change to my 6U production rig. I have a widi blu tooth wireless device plugged into the back of the audio interface, allowing my iPad to send program change messages from ForScore, and my gig performer to send next page, next song commands from controller buttons back to ForScore.

I have two sets of radial DI boxes mounted, the left one sends a stereo combined keyboard signal to FOH while the right one allows me to send a click track and VST sounds to my IEM Right channel if needed.

The computer is a Mac mini M2 Pro with 32GB ram and 2 TB Hdd. It’s got 4 usb-c ports and 2 USB-A, allowing me to plugin in the audio interface cable, a USB-C powered monitor and hook up the powered USB hub.

The Midiface device at the bottom is rock-solid and allows me to hook up my Nord input/output when I need Gig performer to transpose down for the bands that do that. The 2nd output is used to send a signal to my maestro DMX when we’re running lights. I have gig performer programmeged to translate a program change from my iPad into the command the Maestro needs to choose a preset light show. The Midiface is plugged into the powered hub, as well as two 15’ usb-A cables which I run into my Nord and arturia 61 key controller.

I have a wifi router running as well, allowing me to connect to the computer remotely if needed. I’ve got an iPad charger block plugged into the power outlets, allowing me to charge the iPad during a show.

It’s been a pretty reliable setup, outside of the motu issues.
