Cute
…it seems someone invented a slimmed down version of what we know and use in Gig Performer… a panel of widgets that can be assigned to midi coming from a controller and learned to parameters of a plugin (or synth).
It’s available as plugin or standalone, and well it’s actually very unexpensive: 7€
So, maybe it might be useful for someone or for a special purpose.
I saw that - was wondering how it actually connects to plugins if it is itself running as a plugin - I assumed that if it is a plugin then it has to be a host for the plugins it wants to control.
it is the equivalent of a max4live midi effect patch with ccs being mapped to control the hardware.
it just has a pretty interface and they save a lot of work for people who have those hardware synths and wish to do that.
but that’s where it stops - i don’t see how it can add any value TO Gig Performer.
it does add value to users who don’t have GP and want to automate their hardware parameters in ableton. it’s a plus if it also works in other daws.
we can also do the same when we expose vst parameters in a max patch - in this case to control plugins. but that’s way harder to setup and manage than in GP.
