UJAM Amber 2 - Good for live playing?

Plugin Boutique is offering UJAM’s Amber 2 acoustic guitar plugin for $ 19 now.

I have no experience with guitar plugins. Is this plugin any good for live playing, or is it more meant for production use in a DAW?

I have a few of the UJAM plugins. It’s not best suited to live playing, it is more for production using preset phrases in different styles in sync with the host tempo.

Thx for the quick answer! That’s more or less what I thought.

Not that I’m in instant need of a guitar plugin for live playing right now, but what are, in your opinion, some good options?

I think the general consensus is the guitar plugins by MusicLab:

For electric guitars, I also use one or two by Wedgeforce (I have the Plugin Alliance versions):

Someone like @marty will be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Thx, again!

Yeah, the Musiclab plugins are awesome - they are also very expensive.

@Musichandyman_Oscar

Perhaps you could try out different plugins in trial or lite (free) versions to get an idea of what would suit your needs.

Amplesound has a free lite version for acoustic guitars: Ample Guitar M Lite

For an electric guitar, Impact Soundworks offers a free lite version: Shreddage 3 Stratus

Kinda depends on what you’re using them for.

In general I would say Musiclab is top dog. Especially for live work.

In a studio setting , the Amplesound series are great. Especially their acoustic guitars. Not so great for screaming leads though.

Orangetree Samples have outstanding Kontakt libraries also.

Bear in mind with Musiclab V6 you get a built in Amp suite too. And it’s the dogs cahonies.
But I’m slightly biased being an official endorser LOL.

I really like the Indiginous instruments:

I only own the electric guitar instruments though, not anything acoustic. But definitely worth a look.

I use several of the Ujam guitars live. I find them great when set on auto strum/pick mode when playing right hand solos.
